Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is pleased to sponsor and host a Fuel Cell Manufacturing Workshop on October 18, 2006 at the Rensselaer campus in Troy, New York. The primary focus of this workshop will be on the identification of technical challenges and priorities for research on fuel cell stack assembly, as a prelude to the formation of a fuel cell stack assembly research consortium.
The Workshop will bring together representatives from industry, academe and government to review and anticipate technical challenges for the economical assembly of PEM fuel cell stacks, both for specialty and mass market applications. Participants will have the opportunity to preview and help develop the R&D agenda for PEM fuel cell manufacturing as well as establish communication channels with other stakeholders.
The Workshop program will feature presentations laying out price and volume roadmaps for fuel cell technology adoption, a review of current completed, and planned fuel cell manufacturing R&D programs, followed by technical sessions on stack assembly methods and technologies that must be developed to meet those expectations. Tours of Rensselaer's fuel cell manufacturing laboratories will also be scheduled.
